BOSTON — Dean Whitney today announced the launch of Get Better Lab, a Boston-based human-development company focused on helping people understand their circumstances, identify what matters most, and translate those priorities into everyday action.

The company grew out of Whitney’s experience of professional achievement alongside internal struggles with complex trauma, fear, and self-sabotage. His search for understanding developed into years of independent study across psychology, neurobiology, trauma, health, and contemplative practices, alongside experiments with planning, habits, and tracking his own progress.

“I knew what it was like to achieve professionally while struggling internally,” said Whitney, founder of Get Better Lab. “Get Better began with a personal need to understand those patterns and create a more deliberate path forward. Get Better Lab is where I’m turning that work into tools other people can use.”

Whitney brings experience in product strategy, design, user research, and technology development through work with companies including Goldman Sachs, American Express, Putnam Investments, Sanofi Pasteur, and Cytiva. Get Better Lab applies that systems perspective to the interconnected circumstances, priorities, and behaviors that shape a person’s life.

The company’s website introduces the developing Get Better framework and Whitney’s forthcoming book, Get Better: A Neuroscience-Based Framework for Human Development. The framework connects self-awareness with a person’s calling, a future life vision, and practical steps for pursuing it.

A central concern is time. The website’s time assessment calculator helps visitors examine how their 168-hour week is distributed and how much discretionary time remains. An age-based view also illustrates time lived and remaining against a reference lifespan of 4,000 weeks.

The website includes a collection of thought leaders and information about coaching, speaking, and event services, with inquiries available through a contact form.
