BOSTON — Get Better Lab today introduced a free Life Quality Score calculator, offering an early preview of LQS, a system based on the Get Better human-development framework. LQS is intended to become a foundational component of the planned Get Better app, connecting an understanding of a person’s current life situation with priorities, a future vision, and changes pursued over time.

Available through GetBetterLab.com, the preview calculator provides a score from 1 to 100, category results, and AI-generated suggestions based on users’ self-reported answers. It introduces the assessment component of the broader system while development of the platform continues.

The assessment brings together wellness indicators and life satisfaction with questions about Health, Connection, and Resources. Its purpose is to offer a whole-life perspective, helping people consider how different circumstances contribute to their experience rather than viewing any one area in isolation.

“We can be doing well in one part of life and struggling in another,” said Dean Whitney, founder of Get Better Lab. “I created Life Quality Score to help people step back, consider the whole picture, and identify where their attention could make the most difference. The score is a starting point for reflection and action.”

The preview calculator uses a proprietary weighting approach to combine users’ responses. Basic self-awareness questions, including whether a person tends to underestimate or overestimate their circumstances, also inform scoring. Results reflect the information a person reports at the time of the assessment.

Alongside the overall score and category feedback, the tool offers suggestions such as cultivating connection or focusing on resources. Users can ask the AI follow-up questions to explore their results and possible next steps.

The preview provides a result for each completed assessment, and visitors can return to take it again whenever they choose. It is intended as a tool for personal reflection, rather than a clinical evaluation or diagnosis.

Get Better Lab is planning a Fall 2026 launch for Get Better, a platform for human transformation with consumer and enterprise applications. The planned experience will help people assess their life situation, explore life-design options, define a future vision, and put changes into practice over time.

Within that experience, LQS is intended to support an ongoing process of reflection and adjustment. The broader Get Better framework connects self-awareness, mindfulness, habit formation, and focus with practical action, helping people revisit their priorities and adjust direction as their circumstances and understanding change.

The company’s longer-term plans include white-label enterprise solutions and a coach certification program. These are future development directions, not offerings available through the preview calculator.

The preview also introduces ideas explored in Whitney’s published book, Get Better: A Neuroscience-Based Framework for Human Development.

The assessment is free and requires only an email address. Visit GetBetterLab.com/score to access it.
